Mr. Humayun Akhtar Khan,
Federal Minister of Commerce

Mr. Humayun Akhter Khan, Federal Minister for Commerce, is a Member of the National Assembly (MNA) of Pakistan from Lahore. He holds the distinction of being a member of the last four National Assemblies of Pakistan. He also served as Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Investment from July 1997 to October 1999.

He has been actively participating in WTO related activities. He attended, the Sharm al Sheikh and Montreal, Mini Ministerials in June and July 2003. He led the Pakistan delegation to the 5th Ministerial Conference, Cancun in Sept. 2003 and the 6th Ministerial Conference, Hong Kong in Dec. 2005. In 2004 he attended the Mini Ministerial in May in Paris and the G-90 Ministerial meeting in July in Mauritius. In 2005 he attended the Mini Ministerials in Kenya in March, in Paris in May and Dalian China in July. He participated in the G-20 meeting in New Delhi in March 2005.

He is the fellow of the Society of Actuaries, U.S.A 1980 and fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries, 1981. He did his Masters in Actuarial and Business Mathematics from the University of Manitoba, Canada in 1977. He is an avid reader and a keen physical fitness enthusiast.
