Shandana Gulzar Khan
Legal Affairs Officer
Shandana Gulzar Khan is the Legal Affairs Officer at the Mission and in consultation with senior officers, is dealing with the Dispute Settlement Understanding and TRIPS since August 2006.
She has worked on WTO matters at Azam Chaudhry Law Associates and the Asian Institute of Trade and Development in Islamabad from June 2003 till June 2006, where she conducted various seminars and trainings on the legal agreements of the WTO and SAFTA. She has previously worked with the UNDP, the International Human Rights Law Group and in the Lower and High Court of the NWFP from 2000 till 2003. She has also taught Law in LL.B programmes both in the University of Peshawar and in Islamabad for the University of London’s external programmes since 2001.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in Law from the University of Peshawar and received the Lady Noon scholarship from the University of Cambridge to study international trade and international economic laws at the postgraduate level. She also holds diplomas in “DDA Negotiations” from the European Institute of Public administration in Maastricht; “International Development Laws” from the International Development Law Organization in Rome; and in “Advocacy skills” from the Inns of court, UK through the British Council’s project on advocacy development in Pakistan . Shandana has also published various articles on WTO matters.
